Playable Character: John Morris

During the Belmont Clan’s absence, a few other groups of vampire hunters tried to continue their legacy. One of those hunters was John Morris, who took up the Vampire Killer to prevent Elizabeth Bartley from resurrecting Dracula.

Moveset

In terms of fighting style, John is practically identical to Simon Belmont. The main differences between them are the size of their hitboxes, their speed, and the power of their attacks. In order to reflect his bulky build, John is slightly larger, stronger, and slower. He loses the ability to twirl his whip, but he has a different Execution Attack.

Sacred Water: (Quarter-circle + P) John throws a bottle of holy water at the enemy’s feet. The angling depends on whether the button pressed is LP, MP, or HP. Upon touching the ground, a flame is created, which stays there for a second and damages the enemy. The EX version throws three bottles simultaneously in the three angles from the normal version.

Crystal Blade Boomerang: (Half-circle + P) John throws a boomerang at the enemy. It travels to the end of the screen. The damage and speed depend on the button pressed. The EX version is multi-hitting and returns after reaching the edge of the screen, referencing the Cross’ behavior in most games.

Battle Axe: (Shoryuken input + K) John launches an axe upward, which later falls back down. The angle depends on the button press. The EX version launches three axes at the same time in different angles.

Knife: (Reverse Half-circle + K) John launches a knife at the enemy. The speed and power changes with the button press. The heavy variant features the Golden Knife from Simon’s Quest. The EX version throws three knives in a fan area of effect.

Whip Spin: (Reverse Quarter-circle + P) John spins his whip at high speed. This allows him to damage whoever gets close and also nullify projectiles. Damage varies depending on the button press. The EX version is multi-hitting. This move is a reference to Simon’s ability to twirl his whip in SCV4, but sped up and more powerful.

Execution Attack – Water Dragon: John summons a water serpent that travels forward and upwards in a spiral pattern, damaging those who get trapped in its path.

“The Belmont Legacy”

A simple recreation of Bloodlines’ plot, but adding Richter at first to signal his disappearance.
