What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! Dracula Vlad Ţepeş is the main antagonist of the Castlevania series. An avatar of chaos itself, Dracula is a symbol of malice and fear that lives on inside men’s hearts, no matter how many times he’s defeated. He is the most recurring character in Castlevania, so he’s even more iconic than the Belmont Clan.

Profile

  • Name: Dracula Vlad Ţepeş
  • Notable appearances: Nearly every game in the series
  • Design: Based on Symphony of the Night
  • Voice Actor: Patrick Seitz
  • Theme: Dance of Illusions

Moveset

His basic moves involve claw swipes and summoning close-range flames at different altitudes. His special attacks are more focused on magic and tricking the foe. Not very good for combos, but packs quite a punch. He can be hurt anywhere, but he’ll receive more damage if struck in the head’s hitbox, as a reference to his hitbox in all games.

Special Moves

Hellfire: (Quarter-circle + P) Dracula shoots a single fireball projectile. The input alters the altitude. The EX version causes the fireball to immediately expand into three different ones.

Dark Inferno: (Half-circle + P) Dracula fires large meteors at the enemy. The input alters the altitude. The EX version shoots three in quick succession.

Teleportation: (Reverse half-circle + K) A beam appears from the sky and teleports Dracula to another part of the room. The input changes the location to which he teleports. The EX version increases the speed and makes it damaging to enemies that are close to the final location, albeit with a small hitbox.

Bat Charge: (Half-circle + K) Drac transforms into a swarm of bats and charges forward before rematerializing. The input alters the amount of hits the bats perform. Has super armor. The EX version makes him wholly invincible during this attack.

Blood Drain: (Down, up + P) Dracula grabs the enemy and absorbs their health. No difference in input. The EX version has him teleport behind the enemy before the attack, making it very hard to dodge.

Execution Attack – Demonic Megiddo: Dracula encompasses most of the screen with a massive explosion that he finds himself in the epicenter of. The damage dealt by this move depends on the initial position of the target. The outer parts of the explosion hurt less than the epicenter.
